The Greenbrier Difference

Greenbrier Academy for Girls offers an immersive program specifically designed to reestablish a student’s core beliefs. This is done through the collaborative effort of experiences, therapy, academics and a supportive community of sisterhood.

Every aspect of the Greenbrier program is designed to immerse our students in the therapeutic process. We are not a boarding school with a therapy program. We don’t teach then talk. Greenbrier IS the therapy program in and of itself.

When a teenager acts out or becomes withdrawn, those are symptoms of false beliefs that have become embedded through intense emotional experiences. While those experiences may not have been an obvious trauma that she’s even aware of, they have distorted her self-perception and caused her to honestly believe thoughts such as; “I am unlovable.” or “I am defective.”

Until those beliefs are resolved and corrected, a student will continue to suffer the emotional and behavioral symptoms they create.

Greenbrier has designed a framework where community, academics, signature programs (experiences) and family healing collaborate and connect to deconstruct those false beliefs and shepherd students toward deep, lasting change.

Client Testimonials

I wanted to reach out to express our gratitude for your program.

Our daughter seems to have come a long way in the last 4.5 months. Your strong relational model, along with your caliber of therapists has made a substantial difference in our daughter.

I also want to recognize Dr. Todd and the neurofeedback program. He spoke with us in detail the other day and took the time to explain how NF works and the permanent benefits it is having on our daughter. She has been to several programs, and Greenbrier is by far the best!

If she needs continued therapy down the road, we wouldn’t hesitate to send her back. Thank you for everything.

Warmly ~ J & T, PARENTS, PA.

"Everyone greeted me with open arms...I felt like I belonged in the community. I am tearing up just thinking about the magnificent and life-changing experiences I have gone through here. This place creates confident and powerful women that are ready to go out and change the world.” – Anastasia, Greenbrier Alumni

“Greenbrier provided my daughter with a safe and nurturing space to identify her issues and develop healthy coping strategies that have allowed her to graduate from high school and successfully navigate college. The work that she did at Greenbrier under the caring and skilled staff is seen daily in the healthy relationships that she is now able to develop and maintain.” -J.J., ALUMNI PARENT

“What impressed me about GBA was their insistence and skill in working with the entire family system. My daughter is one of four children, and all of her siblings were involved in the on-campus family intensives. Years of hurt and misunderstanding were brought to the surface and as a result, profound healing occurred. My daughter stopped identifying herself as the “black sheep” and returned to a family that loved and accepted her.” - S.L, Los Angeles, CA, ALUMNI PARENT

“I would honestly be dead if I hadn’t come to GBA. This place saved my life.” - A.L., Greenbrier Alumni & Northern Kentucky University Student

“My daughter, like many others, had been bullied during elementary and middle school. Consequently, she developed school avoidance, and her grades plummeted.

She developed the belief that she wasn’t smart. I was amazed at how the therapeutic and academic team interfaced, first to change the belief system, and then to provide learning strategies that allowed her to be successful. It definitely wasn’t a short-term fix, my daughter graduated from GBA three years ago and is now in her second year of college and is on the honor roll!” – J.B., CHARLOTTE, NC, ALUMNI PARENT

“The hardest day at GBA was actually not her first day, but her last day. Our daughter's ‘problems’ ended up being a gift for the whole family to grow and heal.” – GREENBRIER ALUMNI PARENT

“The experience that I had at the village was one that instilled me with a sense of purpose that I had never felt before in my life. I felt really connected and it wasn’t like 'this was just their job and they are just going to go home at the end of the night.' You can tell that they are really invested in the relationships and in the healing that goes on.” - Leyna, Greenbrier Alumni
